Principal

 

The innovation is at the heart of the work.   Francis has worked with innovative companies. ideas and technologies for over 20 years first as a consultant working with large and small companies examining the opportnities for growth and innovation within.  Later, joining innovative start-ups/early stage companies to help turn innovative ideas into products, and build the infrastructure and the contacts/relationships to reinforce success.

Corporates

Eight years of international strategy consulting experience evaluating innovative new products, spinouts, new markets and the growth prospects of existing and new companies while at Braxton Associates and PwC London - clients included:  Arcadia, WAGN, Gefion(new products and markets), Ibstock, Fiat Lubricante, Leisure Link  (new product, existing market) and BBC Worldwide. Clients as an independent included: 3M (new market, existing product), Gaming King (new product and market), First Mortgage Securities (new product) and Media Centrix

Five years financial services experience - innovated and optimised workflows and delivered cost reductions; recognised by the CFO of Northern Trust Co for taking out 30% of costs while increasing team throughput by 80%

Investors

Seven years of strategic and commercial due diligence for FTSE (listed), private equity, VCC and venture capital firms in London and Vancouver with Deloittes, Deloittes Corporate Finance and PwC London. Selected clients included:  Hicks Muse, Permira, William Hill, Rank, Doughty Hanson and Mercury Asset Management.   Subcontracted by Corven (new product), Edengene (new market) and OC&C consulting firms.  Clients as an independent included evaluting new market and new product: Black Lion Capital and e-fund .

 

Start ups

Undertaken four starts -ups (see below) over 14 years wearing multiple "hats",  mentored six, business plans for six:

  1. Product Management - leverages the Steve Blank innovation methodology to create a product development process centred around potential customers and quick learning/ product iterations to get the right product to a large market at a low cost

  2. Business Development  - secured six transformatitve business development agreements

  3. Fund Raising - over $5 million

  4. Admin - legal, accounting, grants and human resources - multiple negotiations,  accounts and filing, and staff development
